Courage never feels good.

Sometimes we think all good feelings must feel good.

But that is not true.

Courage, for example, never feels good.

Why not.

Courage can’t exist without fear.

Courage is having your fear blow straight in your face and you deciding to move forward anyway.
Even if you are crawling, you are deciding to move forward into your fear. That never feels good.

Why does knowing this matter?

It matters because if you find yourself struggling to make a decision, knowing the reason can be encouraging.

Making the right decision and acting on it when there is no fear: easy, comfortable, a no brainer.
Making the right decision and acting on it when there is fear: difficult, uncomfortable, uncertain, our lack of trust, self doubt, looping thoughts, and insufficiencies all come bubbling to the surface.
That, feels yuck.

But that doesn't mean the decision is wrong.
That just means your fears are blowing straight in your face and you are unsure if you can handle it.

That's why moving forward takes courage.
You must face your fear and move forward into uncertainty.

So if you are facing a fear this week, I want to encourage you to reach out and take courage knowing the right decision does not always feel good, but you can handle it.

Steph.
